Alberta Beavers

Alberta Marion Beavers, 89, of Grants Pass died Sept. 18, 2010, at The Bridge Retirement and Assisted Living. No services are planned at this time. Beavers was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Dedham, Mass., to Victor and Marion Heaman. She graduated from Excelsior High School in Bellflower, Calif. On Jan. 1, 1938, in Bellflower, she married John Woodrow Beavers, who died in 1973. In 1984, she moved to Grants Pass from Bellflower. For many years, she volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital. She enjoyed stitchery, reading and traveling. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Jones of Salem, and Penny Carpenter of Grants Pass; a son, Michael Beavers of Temecula, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great- grandchildren.
