Albert William Whipple, 76, of Rogue River, Oregon, passed away peacefully July 18, 2015. He had bravely confronted and fought heart disease. In honoring his wishes, there will be no services. Albert was born March 6, 1939 to Bill & Edna Whipple in Butte, Montana. After attending Butte High School he joined the U.S. Navy Reserve. His family later moved to Rogue River, Oregon where Albert designed and helped his Dad build the family home. Following in his father's footsteps, Albert earned his HAM license at an early age, his call sign was W7BJO. Albert and his father shared a lifelong love of everything electronic. Albert worked for Sears in Medford for 22 years, as their lead repair technician. He earned the license of journeyman electronic repair technician. In May 1985 Albert married Susan Elwood, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Upon marrying Susan, Albert was welcomed into the large close knit extended Elwood family and enjoyed many years of family gatherings, parties and camping. Albert loved flying, so in the early 1990's he learned how to fly and joined the Civil Air Patrol as their radio communications officer. Also in 1985 Albert & Susan put their professional technical expertise together and started their own electronics sales & service business, called High Technology Services, Inc. They had a successful 25 year run with the business until retirement in 2010. The late 1990's found Albert & Susan building their dream home together, just the two of them, where they have enjoyed the fruits of their labor for many wonderful years. Albert was a kind & hard working easy going people person. Capable of accomplishing anything he set his mind to. A jack of all trades, there wasn't anything he wouldn't tackle, build, create, make or repair. He enjoyed helping others and was well known in the community. In his retirement years, he found great pleasure, spending time with family, listening to the music of Alan Jackson, enjoying the love of his cats and keeping in touch with friends, both near & from Butte, Montana. His favorite passion, was time spent restoring his first car, a 1963 Mercedes. He touched the lives of many people with his ready smile, helping hands & generosity. He will be dearly missed. Albert is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan; Mother-in-law Jane Elwood of Central Point; Sister-in-law Debra Elwood of Central Point.
